Personally Identifying Information
Xariah.net does not collect any personally identifying information other than your IP address. Your IP address is recorded in the website access logs, and is only used for debugging website-related performance issues and to track any potential abuse of the website. All logs are deleted after 14 days.
Other Information
Various applications on the website may store data related to your logged-in user ID (such as eicon favorites). This information will be deleted on request, contact Xariah Dailstone for any deletion request.
XarChat
The XarChat application communicates to xariah.net to check for updates. No identifying logs are kept with regard to this check.
Future versions of XarChat may add additional calls to xariah.net. The presence of these calls will be made evident when launching a new version that includes them with an option to opt in or out of the functionality, and as a general rule, no identifying logs will be kept for any feature beyond the minimum necessary to provide the feature; and if such data is necessary, it will be clearly communicated in the opt-in/out dialog.
XarChat keeps logs of your chats in a database file, as well as some other cached data for performance purposes. These logs and data never leave your machine, and can be deleted by you at any time (but shut down XarChat first though). The location of these files differs depending on your OS:
- For Windows, data is stored in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\XarChatz
- For MacOS and Linux, data is stored in
~/.xarchat
In this location, you will find the following files:
- cacheddata.db - Caches some profile field mapping data from F-List.
- chatlog.db - Logs of channels and private messages you've participated in.
- eicons.db - Cached eicon data for XarChat's eicon search functionality.
- imageproxycache/ - Cached image data for eicons and images shown inline in XarChat. Data in this directory is temporary and will be cleaned up by XarChat after 60 minutes.
